Painted Lady Butterfly/Caterpillar Kits- PICK UP ONLY- Order deadline is March 26th

For pick-up Saturday April 29th and Sunday April 30th between 10am-5pm.  

This is an exciting opportunity to rear your own butterflies! This could be a great project for families or classrooms, or as a gift for nature-lovers. 

Caterpillar kits come with 8-10 caterpillars, an accessory kit, a flight cage and instructions.

Caterpillars come together in one rearing container that contains enough food to feed all the caterpillars through their development. Accessories include an extra piece of paper towel, a paintbrush, and a vial for feeding adult butterflies. 

Caterpillars remain in the rearing container for about 7-14 days before they crawl to the lid, attach to the paper barrier on top and become a chrysalis. This paper barrier is easy to move so it is at this point that they can be moved to a flight cage. Butterflies will emerge from the chrysalis after 7-10 day and will need to be fed a sugar-water blend. After a few days, the butterflies can be released! 

The entire project will take a total of 3-4 weeks.
